Even though the memory hasn’t change, it did have a different meaning.

downloadI read the book in Dutch, so I had to translate that sense myself.
It is true. The memory of something has happened will always stay but in time your feelings about it will change. It will be less painful or you will be happier about it. Or you know more about the history of what happened, you can make peace with it or be more angry about it. Memories always change.
